Rhys is 5 months old!

He coos, turns himself both ways, laughs really hard, sucks on his fingers and smiles when he sees himself in the mirror. Too bad he cried so much when we took pics.

Potty training

For about three weeks now, Ella has been interested in the potty. Poop bothers her, and when it happens, she asks to be changed.

After her teacher told me that every time she poops at school she says “Licia (Alicia), poop” and wants to be changed, I decided it was time for pull-ups and M&Ms.

Every evening before getting into the bathtub, I ask her if she wants to pee. She always wants to sit on the potty and 50% of the time she actually pees but the rest of the time she just grabs a bunch of toilet paper and wipes herself.

On Tuesday, she sat on the potty and peed. I praised her and ran downstairs to get the M&Ms. Much to my surprise, as I walked into the bathroom, I found her standing on the step in a little puddle if pee. Poor baby! I told her it was ok and gave her an M&M. She took a bite, spit it out and handed it back to me.

Saying goodbye to John John

The Holtzclaws let us crash their ice cream Wednesday outing and hang out with them one more time before they mice to Charlotte, NC this weekend. So sad to see that amazing family go. John and Ella made the most of it…

Plural

Ella has learned about the plural. She now asks for “crakerS,” not just “cracker” and wants to see “pictureS” on daddy’s phone.

Ella’s 2nd Birthday Bash

Blame it on Pinterest. Yes, I went all out for Ella’s puppy-themed birthday party. Lots of decorations, a bouncy house from my sister, hot dogs and fries, party favors, etc. I’m glad I made it small because I would have gone crazy trying to personalize a bunch of stuff.  I think Ella had a good time and honestly, my little E deserved it all!

Ella’s 2nd birthday

Wow I cannot believe E is 2. She changes every single week. This week, for ex, she let me sing Twinkle twinkle little star, which she never did even last week.

She also gives me back the iPad and iPhone when I ask her most times, and is now screaming her head off when we put her in the crib. She is constantly hungry and still loves singing music and spinning around when there’s music.

She can count from 1 – 10 and kisses me randomly.

For her bday we took her out to breakfast since Tim bought tix to the Book of Mormon for my bday without realizing that it was E’s bday. E woke up starved, so Tim gave her a waffle (or faffle, as she calls it). And then another half. Then she opened the balance bike I got her for her bday (from craigslist!)

Needless to say she didn’t eat at the bakery. But she did poop there.

Got her cupcakes to share at school and then took her to Mezclaria with Ben for rice and beans.
