In London. Can’t Sleep

I did make it to London, arriving in Luton Airport at about 11:15 am and getting all the way to the hotel by about 1:00pm. I took a short nap, worked on an RFP and attended to other work things and then went for a coffee and a walk around Regent Park with my boss and friend, Tricia. It was a nice day out and a mixture of tourists and natives were taking advantage of the big and beautiful greenspace.

Later on, we met Kelly’s friend (can I say that she’s my friend yet?) Bea for a beer in Soho followed by dinner at barrafina, one of the best tapas restaurants I’ve ever eaten at (think Harvest Vine quality, but more accessible) with perhaps the best croquettas ever made. I’m on a mission to reproduce them when I get home. I forgot my camera and ended up taking a bunch of photos with Bea’s phone – I’ll post them when I get them.

It was an early night and I went immediately to bed, not even calling Kelly ( I suck at that), but woke up at 4:20am unable to sleep anymore. I should have taken the ambien offered to me, but wanted to get up earlier for a run and was fairly certain that I’d be too groggy if I did.

Be careful what you wish for.
