The American Idol Effect

Kelly did a short post on our favorite pick for this year’s American Idol (David Archuleta) and the next thing we know we’re getting 700 views of the blog a day. I imagine most people are sad to find out the entire blog isn’t related to David, but we’re glad to feel popular in the meantime! I think I’ll push Kelly to talk more about American Idol because I generally lose interest once the bad singers are gone…

  1. I was wondering too!!! The hits just jumped up this week and I couldn’t figure out why. I mean I know you guys are super popular and international and all that, but it still didn’t fit. All makes sense now 😉 ….

  2. What’s weird is that I don’t know how people are finding that post because the referrer information isn’t coming across. I’ve told Kelly to step up the talk on David but she says she doesn’t care about being popular, which we all know is a BIG LIE.

  3. What do you use to track hits? Statcounter (http://www.statcounter.com) does a pretty great job of showing you where, what IP, the referrer info…

    It’s free too 🙂

  4. Statcounter isn’t offered by WordPress. We don’t host this blog ourselves. 🙂 WordPress has some built-in reporting but for some reason referrer isn’t getting tracked on a lot of requests (it is on some…)
